Digital Security Awareness
Safeguarding Our Digital Community
At GEMS Founders School – Dubai South, we recognise that growing up in a digital world brings both exciting opportunities and important responsibilities. Our Digital Security Awareness programme empowers students to use technology safely, responsibly, and confidently. Through lessons, workshops, and ongoing guidance, we teach children how to protect their personal information, navigate online spaces with respect, and develop the digital resilience they need for learning and life. By working in partnership with families, we ensure our students are prepared to thrive in a connected world while staying safe online.
For Students:
- Cybersecurity Curriculum: Interactive lessons on password hygiene, ethical hacking, and detecting misinformation.
- Tech Clubs: Workshops on coding, digital citizenship, and VR safety.
For Parents:
- Annual Workshops: Topics include social media privacy, screen time balance, and parental controls.
- Resource Hub: Downloadable guides and webinar recordings.
GFD’s Tech Safeguards
- Advanced firewalls and encrypted platforms.
- Regular audits by cybersecurity partners.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
We have a strict no mobile phone policy, and students are not permitted to use mobile phones on campus. Students in Year 3 and above may bring a tablet or laptop to support their learning; however, these devices are only allowed during lessons and must not be used during break or lunch times. All parents are required to read and sign the Digital Device Responsible Use Agreement (DDRUA) policy. Click here to view
