Manager – School Operations
Rollen D’Souza is the Manager of School Operations at GEMS Founders School – Dubai South and a founding member of the school. With over ten years of experience in school operations in the UAE, Rollen plays a key role in ensuring that the school operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Rollen leads the day-to-day operational management of the school, including facilities and maintenance, health and safety, security, transport, cleaning services, and administrative operations. He works closely with the Principal and other members of Senior Leadership Team to ensure that operational systems effectively support teaching, learning, and student wellbeing. A strong focus of his role is maintaining compliance with KHDA, Civil Defense, Municipality, Health Authority, and internal governance standards.
He is responsible for operational budgeting, procurement, vendor management, and asset control, ensuring that resources are used effectively and sustainably. Rollen also leads emergency preparedness and business continuity planning, ensuring the school is well prepared to respond to any unexpected situations.
Prior to joining GEMS Founders School – Dubai South, Rollen served as Assistant Manager – School Facilities at GEMS Wellington Academy – Al Khail, where he managed campus facilities, staff accommodation, contractor coordination, and health and safety compliance. His earlier experience in school transport operations and finance has provided him with a strong foundation in service delivery, safeguarding, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
Rollen holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Commerce, along with professional certifications including IOSH Managing Safely. He is passionate about creating well-managed school environments that support student wellbeing, staff effectiveness, and positive community engagement.
