Zara Carmichael

Zara Jane Carmichael is delighted to be the Head of House at GFD, where she brings her deep passion for fostering a lifelong love of learning and creating lasting memories for every child. Originally from Warwickshire, Zara holds a BA in Sports and Physical Education & Education Studies, as well as a PGCE in Primary Education. Her journey into teaching has been guided by her commitment to nurturing children to always do their best and grow both academically and personally.

As Head of House, Zara is passionate about developing a strong sense of community, where students can celebrate achievements, support one another and take pride in being part of something bigger than themselves. She believes that house system is about much more than competition - it’s about making memories, fostering belonging and building connections that last well beyond the classroom.
