Clare Aikin

Clare is proud to serve as the Primary Literacy Lead at GFD. With experience teaching across all primary key stages from FS1 to Year 6, Clare brings a deep understanding of literacy progression and how to support learners at every stage. She is committed to ensuring that all children develop strong reading and writing skills to access the full curriculum and achieve academic success.

Clare supports teachers across the school to deliver high-quality literacy instruction, drawing on data to drive interventions and maintain consistency in planning, teaching, and assessment. She is passionate about developing a love of reading through a rich, diverse reading spine that engages all learners.

Through her leadership, Clare aims to ensure literacy is at the heart of the curriculum, empowering students to become confident, capable communicators. She is proud to contribute to GFD’s vision of helping every child Grow, Flourish, and Discover.
